YGAV is primarily designed for use as a fresh air intake grille.

Design
Made of cast aluminum.
Equipped with a corrosion-resistant, acid-proof pest screen.
Circular connection fits directly onto spiral ducts.

Installation
Designed for circular ducts.
The grille is secured using screws in the pre-drilled holes.

Oxide Layer & Corrosion Resistance
When untreated aluminum comes into contact with oxygen outdoors, it forms a thin oxide layer that is strongly bonded to the underlying metal. This layer:

• Protects the metal from further corrosion
• Is insoluble in water and resistant to various chemicals
• Results in a whitish surface appearance

However, the oxide layer can be weakened by direct contact with:

• Other metals such as copper, lead, and iron (especially in humid conditions)
• Inorganic acids (e.g., hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid)
• Organic acids (e.g., formic acid, oxalic acid, chlorinated solvents)
• Bases
• Mercury and mercury salts
• Seawater and chloride solutions
• Water containing heavy metals
• Moist wood and timber treated with copper salts
• Alkaline construction materials such as fresh concrete

Cleaning & Maintenance
Corrosion resistance can decrease due to dirt accumulation, which keeps the surface moist for extended periods.
To prevent this, the grille should be cleaned annually, depending on the level of exposure to pollutants.

Recommended Cleaning Methods
Clean water (the least aggressive method).
Mild soap or detergent.
Non-corrosive chemical cleaning agents.
