The YGVN grille is primarily designed for use as a fresh air intake grille.
Design
Made of cast aluminum.
Rectangular connection.
Backside equipped with a stainless steel pest-proof mesh.
Manufactured according to “brick dimensions” (see specification table).
Oxide Layer & Corrosion Resistance
When untreated aluminum is exposed to oxygen outdoors, a thin oxide layer forms, which is strongly bonded to the metal. This layer:
- Protects the metal from further corrosion
- Is insoluble in water and resistant to various chemicals
- Results in a whitish surface appearance
However, the oxide layer can be weakened by direct contact with:
- Other metals (copper, lead, iron), especially in humid conditions.
- Inorganic acids (e.g., hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid).
- Organic acids (e.g., formic acid, oxalic acid, chlorinated solvents).
- Bases.
- Mercury and mercury salts.
- Seawater and chloride solutions.
- Water containing heavy metals.
- Moist wood or timber treated with copper salts.
- Alkaline construction materials (e.g., fresh concrete).
Cleaning & Maintenance
Corrosion resistance decreases if dirt accumulation keeps the surface moist for extended periods.
To prevent this, annual cleaning is recommended, depending on exposure to pollutants.
Recommended Cleaning Methods
Clean water (least aggressive method).
Mild soap or detergent.
Non-corrosive chemical cleaning agents.
